Over the weekend of April 19th, I traveled to Los Angeles to attend Perfume's final stop on their Future Pop World Tour 4th run! And to see my very dear friend Katiya. I wanted to write this up as a memory and photo dump and to share with you all how the experience was!

I arrived around 3PM, and once Katiya picked me up, we went straight to the area the venue was at. We didn't want to risk being late with traffic. To kill some time, we decided to get ice cream. The real reason for this was because on this day (Friday) my coworker had texted me that our director had brought in ice cream for everyone and I was upset! (Not actually upset, more like "wow now Im super craving ice cream")

We went to this place around the corner from the venue called Little Damage and it was super Instagram-able, you know what I mean? The entire shop felt like it was 10ft by 10ft, but they had enough room for a photo booth.. I got the cookie butter ice cream (which was vegan? Somehow?) and Katiya got the coffee! This place also boasts their charcoal cones. They look scary but really just taste like normal cones. I did end up dropping the second half of my cone all over the ground which was super sad...but its okay. I was full anyway!

After, we headed over to the venue to wait in line. This concert was different than the other Perfume concerts I've been to in that we had assigned seats. This was nice because we could just show up and not be worried about having to be too early.

When we went inside I was BLOWN AWAY. The inside of the Ace Hotel theater is insane. The outside looks like a normal venue, but the inside looks like the freaking Sagrada Familia or something. It was beautiful. We immediately hit up the merch booth and spent too much money and then headed to our seats.

The opener... so Perfume had an opening band. They were XXT and they were a trip. . Not bad by any means, but definitely a unique set. The concert itself was so much fun! I didn't take any footage or photos as they stated several times not to, but everything about it was incredible. The girls' English has improved so much! And during the chants that A-chan lead, she would say "Girls!", "Boys!", "Everyone else!". I almost cried because it was such a small thing, but I knew meant a lot to people. I actually only cried once during this concert! Wow, I know. I teared up at the beginning because they did a timeline from their debut to now and it's amazing to see how far they've come. But the full on tears came later...can you guess during which song?

Chocolate Disco. Hear me out!! This song always makes me emotional when I see them perform it, but this time more so. The reason being because the whole concert did have a theme of reflecting on everything they've done up to this point. Chocolate Disco was the song that really put Perfume on the map initially. Seeing how much they've grown since....it made me sob! These girls are the most humble, passionate performers I've had the pleasure to see. They always make me want to work hard towards my own dreams. Anyway!! Before I cry again, let’s move on!

Matcha ice cream from Midori Matcha in Little Tokyo

On Saturday, Katiya and I hit up Little Tokyo in LA where we had okonomiyaki, resisted buying figures, bought pens and stationary, had amazing matcha snacks and died in the Sanrio shop.

All in all, it was an amazing, relaxing weekend with someone I love so dearly doing so many of my favorite things. I will treasure the memories from this weekend always!

Do you have any special memories from concerts? Tell me about them!!

Love & Stars, Alex
